Commissions
Custom art is the most personal type of art. This is something timeless to hang up now, then pass down to future generations. The portrait is the most popular request. But subjects such as homes, beaches, a vacation scene, also make great commissions! Not every favorite photo translates well as a painting. I would need to help you choose to make that determination. Some commissioning patrons will prefer a live sitting. Modelling for a portrait is so much fun for me, however sitting is not as easy as it sounds. Children do not make the best models since sitting still is difficult. I do find children to be highly photogenic, and I enjoy painting them from photos.
Pricing
Commissions are priced at $2.50 per square inch no matter what the subject. If this is a portrait with more than one person, the price increases by 50% for each additional person pictured.
Example: 16×20” one person portrait: 16×20=320sq”; 320×2.50=$800 for one person portrait of 16×20” add one person at 50%=$1,200; for three persons-$1,600
This formula will help you to decide on the size of your painting. There are no restrictions on canvas sizes.
Tax and shipping will be added at check-out.
Allow at least 8 weeks for completion.
A 50% downpayment secures your commission. You will be given 14 days from the downpayment day to let me know if you decide to cancel your order. I will return 50% of your downpayment if that should happen. After 14 days, I will require keeping the downpayment.
Upon Completion:
If you are not satisfied with your painting, I will make simple changes for you as long as I feel it does not require completely changing the painting.
